Betreff: [IFLA-L] Cycling for libraries registration is closing up
Hi everyone.
The summer is here, and it's time to take out the bicycles. The Cycling
For Libraries -unconference registration is still open until the end of
this week, and there are several more places available for this
fantastic opportunity. So, if you or a friend/colleague of yours is
still hesitating about participating in Cycling For Libraries, please
hurry up!
As you might have heard already, Cycling For Libraries is a unique
"unconference" for 100 librarians and people close to the
library-profession. Themed "Librarians on the move", the event starts
from Copenhagen, Denmark on 28th of May and travels 650km on bicycles to
Berlin, Germany and finally merges into the 100th Deutscher
Bibliothekartage on 7th of June.
Cycling For Libraries is an event of professional nature, designed for
100 participants, with more focus on networking, workshopping and
discussions (and bicycling) and less on staring at powerpoints in
auditoriums. The Copenhagen-Berlin is one of the top European bicycle
routes, and travels through the beautiful Danish and German countryside
and cities like Rostock.
Themes include:
* Communicating to customers
* Extending knowledge and skills
* What the library can offer to the society
* Library as a public place
* Library as an export product
* Open Data
* Mobile libraries
We'll keep the registration open for you for this week, until the 1st of
May at the website http://www.cyclingforlibraries.org/ . Naturally you'll
find us on Facebook too (just search for Cycling for libraries), on
Twitter (#cyc4lib), Flickr. Or better, come and meet us along our route
or in Berlin.
Organizations: if you send your staff to this event, we guarantee to
return them in better mental and physical fitness – a little worn
perhaps – but happier, more motivated, focused and inspired.
