Das klingt zunächst einmal gut.

leider unterscheiden sich Preise und Preispolitik einiger 
wissenschaftlicher Gesellschaften z.B. AAAS, AGU oder hier APS - nicht 
sonderlich von der kommerzieller Verlage. Die Preiserhöhungen für 2004 
liegen bei APS bei ca. 8,75 %

Diesen Supertipp sollte man schon jedem Studienanfänger geben nach dem 
Motto: Hat die Uni-Bibliothek mal wieder kein Geld, um die essentiellen 
Zeitschriften zu bezahlen, schreib doch selber an den Prof. Dr. 
Nobelpreisträger und bitte ihn ganz einfach um eine Kopie seines 
Artikels. Der freut sich dann riesig darüber, dass sich schon ein 
Erstsemester für seine Ideeen interessiert...

Urheberrechtlich geschützte Publikationen über einen Document Server 
ohne Einwilligung des entsprechenden Verlags im Web verfügbar zu machen, 
 ist keine Lösung und dürfte von Elsevier & Co. kaum toleriert werden.

Die Lösung des Problems kann nur in der konsequenten Anwendung des 
"Prinzips des offenen Zugangs" durch die Wissenschaftler, wie in der 
Berlin Declaration

formuliert, liegen.
