im Rennen um die umfangreichste Suchmaschine hat sich nach einiger Zeit
wieder etwas getan. Die Suchmaschine "Alltheweb"
(http://www.alltheweb.com/) hat nach eigenen Angaben vom Umfang her die
Suchmaschine Google überholt - und zwar um exakt 22.150.605 Dokumente.
Alltheweb hat nach eigenen Angaben 2,095 Milliarden Seiten indexiert während
Google "nur" 2,073 Milliarden Seiten aufweisen kann.

Ein gerade eben von mir durchgeführter Vergleich ergab tatsächlich, dass
sich bei verschiedenen Suchanfragen in Alltheweb mehr Dokumente finden als
in Google (speziell auch bei deutschsprachigen Abfragen!).

Da das Ranking und die Suchzeit in Alltheweb denen von Google kaum noch
nachstehen, ist Alltheweb eine erst zu nehmende Alternative - vor allem
auch, weil Alltheweb einige erweiterte Suchmöglichkeiten bietet, die Google
nicht bietet.

expect the number of pages searched displayed on Google's home page to
