This document is a compilation of electronic discussion lists, distribution
lists and electronic serials which are of interest to library professionals
and staff.  It is intended to assist the user of networked information
resources by: 1) providing the names and addresses of the selected electronic
lists and serials; 2) giving brief directions for obtaining access to these
resources; and 3) providing a subject index to the resources.

This document was originally the work of Charles Bailey, Jr., Assistant
Director for Systems at the University of Houston Libraries.  He has
maintained, revised, and frequently published it since 1990.  Like the
original, this edition continues to specify the addresses and titles for lists
and serials employing the Kotsikonas, Thomas, or other server software.  Note,
however, that the updated list reflects the increasing use of Internet addresses
and the decreasing use of BITNET addresses; BITNET addresses are given only
where no Internet address is available.  In addition, a subject index now
provides access to these resources based on specific interests within
libraries and librarianship.
