We cordially invite you to the ninth international Open Science Conference. The
conference will take place in virtual form from 08 to 10 March 2022.

This year’s conference is cooperating with the German Commission for UNESCO.
They organise a panel discussion on the third conference day from 13:00-14:30
(CET) on „Promoting Open Science globally: the UNESCO Recommendation on Open
Science“.
The German Commission for UNESCO invites all stakeholders to engage with them
to discuss the scope of the UNESCO Recommendation as well as the dynamics it
has generated. Keynotes will be provided by two experts with exclusive insights
into the UNESCO process, Vera Lacoeuilhe and Dr Peggy Oti-Boateng:
· “Which new potentials does the UNESCO Recommendation open up,
especially for countries of the Global South?" (Vera Lacoeuilhe)
* “Implications and initiatives: How the UNESCO Open Science Recommendation
is being put into practice” (Dr Peggy Oti-Boateng)
The Panelists are Michael Arentoft (European Commission), Vera Lacoeuilhe, Dr
Peggy Oti-Boateng (UNESCO Paris) and Laura I. Rovelli (Latin American Forum for
Research Assessment).
The Open Science Conference 2022 is dedicated to the Open Science movement and
provides a unique forum for researchers, librarians, practitioners,
infrastructure providers, policy makers, and other important stakeholders to
discuss the latest and future developments in Open Science.
Don’t miss the interactive poster session focusing on practical relevance for
Open Science practices such as infrastructure projects and tools, best-practice
insights, Open Science education, as well as recent research findings from
studies etc.
