HEATHER PIWOWAR CONFIRMED AS A KEYNOTE SPEAKER

We are delighted to announce that one of the keynote speakers at Open
Repositories 2019 will be Dr. Heather Piwowar.

in research data availability and reuse, including a seminal paper measuring
the citation benefit of publicly available research data. Dr Piwowar has a
bachelor’s and master’s degree from MIT in electrical engineering, 10 years of

SUBMIT YOUR PROPOSALS BY JANUARY 9, 2019!

The 14th International Conference on Open Repositories, OR2019, will be
organized in Hamburg, Germany, June 10-13, 2019.

This year’s conference theme is "All the User Needs". The aim is to provide the
attendees an opportunity to explore and reflect on the ways repositories
interact with their users. In addition to the overall user-centered theme there
are also a number of sub-themes, which address many of the current issues
related to digital repositories and their role in open scholarship and open
cultural heritage.

The Call for Proposals for OR2019 is available at http://or2019.net/cfp/. We
are looking for proposals for several different tracks: presentations, panels,
24x7s, developer track presentations & demos, posters, workshops and tutorials.

The submission system for proposals is now open (see
https://www.conftool.net/or2019/). The deadline for the submissions is
Wednesday, January 9, 2019.

SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

OR2019 will again run a Scholarship Programme which will enable us to provide
support for a small number of fully funded places for the conference in
Hamburg. The programme is open to librarians, repository managers, developers
and researchers in digital libraries and related fields. Applicants submitting
a proposal for the conference will be given priority consideration for funding.

Full details and an application form will be available on the conference web
site (http://or2019.net/) shortly.

We look forward to seeing you in Hamburg in June!
