Auf Bitten von Bibliotheca Baltica leite ich die folgende Einladung an Sie 
weiter.

Neben einem interessanten Programm bietet das Symposium auch die Gelegenheit, 
den spektakulären Neubau der Lettischen Nationalbibliothek kennenzulernen.

Das Symposium steht allen Interessierten offen, unabhängig von einer 
Mitgliedschaft in Bibliotheca Baltica

INVITATION TO THE BIBLIOTHECA BALTICA SYMPOSIUM 2016

The Bibliotheca Baltica Association is an international organization
that unites major libraries from the Baltic Sea region and libraries that
focus their activities, holdings and special collections on the Baltic Sea
region.

From 20 to 21 October 2016 Bibliotheca Baltica will hold its 13th
international symposium in Riga. We hope that you will join us there!

What are the new challenges and competences libraries and librarians are
encountering today and tomorrow? How do you make your library even more
relevant in your community?

Bibliotheca Baltica symposium gives you a possibility to meet colleagues
from Baltic Sea Area and to share experiences about renewing your library
and refreshing your library’s competences. At the symposium there are
librarians from academic libraries, national libraries and public
libraries. They all have the same interest to make difference in their
community.

Public libraries are more and more public places having new customer
groups like immigrants. Academic libraries integrate more deeply to the
research and publishing processes. What are the new skills and competences
libraries and librarians need then facing these challenges?
