The Steering Committee of the International Conference on Theory and
Practice of Digital Libraries (TPDL) invites persons and organizations
to submit a bid for hosting the conference in 2015 and 2016.
The International Conference on Theory and Practice of Digital
Libraries (TPDL) has been the leading scientific forum on digital
libraries since 1997. Until 2011 the conference was named European
Conference on Research and Advanced Technology for Digital Libraries
(ECDL). Information about the previous ECDL/TPDL conferences can be
found at http://www.tpdl.eu/past-events-and-conferences, while in 2014 a
joint event will be co-organized by the International Conference on
Theory and Practice of Digital Libraries (TPDL) and the Joint Conference
on Digital Libraries (JCDL) in London, UK, September, 8-12, 2014.
The TPDL conference includes a variety of events in order to produce a
rich and stimulating programme. Typically, a Conference includes (but is
not necessarily limited to): Tutorials, Workshops, Doctoral Consortium,
Research papers, Panel discussions, Posters/Demonstrations, Other
co-located events, such as project meetings and Social Programme. The
conference attracts around 200-300 participants and it is usually held
in September.

Bids must be submitted by *Friday, April 25th 2014* by email to the
Executive Board of the Steering Committee Christos Papatheodorou
(papatheodor@xxxxxxxx), Stefan Gradman (stefan.gradmann@xxxxxxxxxxx) and
Trond Aalberg (trondaal@xxxxxxxxxxx). Interested parties can contact the
Executive Board of the Steering Committee to receive further details.
The Steering Committee will review and select the proposals. The
Steering Committee can ask for modifications and changes to the
proposals, if deemed necessary. The key persons of the selected bids
will be invited to the Steering Committee Meeting at JCDL/TPDL 2014,
London, UK,(September 8-12) in order to present the bid.
IMPORTANT DATES
- Bid submission deadline: April 25th, 2014
- Feedback to bidders and discussion: May - June 2014
- Bid selection: June 2014
