IFLA Signs Civil Society Statement on Exceptions and Limitations for
Education at WIPO meeting
On Wednesday 18th July IFLA, along with seventeen other civil society
organisations, signed a statement on copyright exceptions and
limitations for educational purposes. The 24th meeting of the WIPO
Standing Committee on Copyright and Related Rights (SCCR) has devoted
three days of discussion on education. The civil society statement urges
WIPO Member States to undertake substantive discussions and collaborate
on working documents as a first step towards the adoption of an
international instrument. It concludes with 12 recommendations for
Member States as they engage in their work.
