It is my pleasure to invite members of EBLIDA to attend and participate at
the NVB/IFLA international conference *The Future of Information and
Library Associations* which will be held in The Hague 8-9 August 2012.****

This event is held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the Dutch
Association of Information Professionals NVB; it is one of the *satellite
meetings *preceding the IFLA World Information Congress in Helsinki.
However, the programme is also of interest to professional colleagues who
will not attend the conference in Finland.****

The target audience for our event are representatives of library and
information associations – leadership and members alike – from all over the
world, including those from the Netherlands and other European countries.***

The programme will comprise:****

   - success stories of library associations worldwide;****
   - advocacy for libraries, libraries on the agenda;****
   - visions for the future of the library and information profession and
   library associations’ role in promoting the impact of information on
   economy and society.****

Presenters and speakers are coming from different corners of the world,
including developing countries as well as countries with emerging economies.

I am certain that the programme we are currently developing is interesting
for EBLIDA members, and therefore encourage you to distribute information
about our international conference widely within your association.****
