Office Manager / Library Assistant (f/m)

Jacobs University Bremen is a private, independent university offering degrees 
in engineering, natural sciences, humanities and social sciences at bachelor´s, 
master´s and doctoral levels. Founded in 1999, the university now has about

The mission of the Information Resource Center is to offer facilities and 
services in support and teaching, learning and research that meet the high 
ambitions of Jacobs University.

The Information Resource Center (IRC) at Jacobs University Bremen invites 
applications for the full-time position of an

Office Manager / Library Assistant (f/m)

·         Team assistant to the Director of Information Resources, the Chief 
Technology Officer and the respective teams

·         Communicate with internal and external stakeholders in both written 
and spoken German and English

·         Administrative work (e.g. mail distribution, ordering and 
distribution of office supplies, process monitoring, meeting management)

·         Library assistance in the technical services and acquisitions 
department (e.g. serials check-in, receiving orders, processing invoices)

·         Library assistance in public services and circulation departments 
(e.g. room bookings, maintain the orderly appearance of the IRC public spaces, 
communication with facility department for building maintenance issues)

·         Project management support for IRC-related projects
Required qualifications:

·         Degree as specialist in media and information services (FaMI 
education or equivalent) preferred

·         Proficiency in English and German (at least B2 level of the Common 
European Framework of Reference for Languages)

·         Experience in office management

·         Good knowledge of MS Office

·         Familiarity with library procedures in an academic or research library

·         Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

·         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·         Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
