Sharon Fawcett, National Archives of the United States, wird am 23. Mai zu
einer Gruppe japanischer Kollegen über die Rolle der Präsidentenbibliotheken in
den USA sprechen und auf die Fragen der japanischen Kollegen antworten.
The Role & History of Presidential Libraries
The Presidential Library system is a very unique to the United States.
Libraries are privately constructed on behalf of former presidents, and upon
completion they are deeded to the federal government. Through the National
Archives and Records Administration (NARA), the federal government currently
manages and maintains 13 presidential libraries. In this program, Sharon
Fawcett, Assistant Archivist for Presidential Libraries, National Archives and
Records Administration, will talk about the societal role and history of the US
Presidential Libraries.
