Dear Management of Library Associations Section members

 

As you are probably be aware, over 400 public libraries in the UK are
under threat of closure. I seek your support in our advocacy campaign
for UK public library services. Your support would align well with the
goals of BSLA http://www.ifla.org/alp/bsla - to help make all of our
library associations and libraries stronger.

 

I would very much appreciate you encouraging your members to tweet on
the 5th Feb in support of UK public library services. The Chartered
Institute of Library & Information Professionals has a web page with
details about the 5th February:  <http://www.cilip.org.uk/savelibraries>
www.cilip.org.uk/savelibraries which includes ideas for people to get
involved and external links to local campaigners. Any information you
can promote on your elists and websites about our campaign would also be
appreciated.   If you require any news items, please contact
