Dear EBLIDA Expert Group colleagues and Committee members, (Apologies for

The current EBLIDA Director will take maternity leave from the end of the

EBLIDA members have already been alerted and asked to help advertise for a

identify good potential candidates? We very much appreciate your help.
The candidate can be any nationality but should have good English
communication skills and will need to relocate to The Hague for the period
of the contract.

Overview:
Job vacancy: EBLIDA seeks a new Director.
EBLIDA is the European Bureau of Library, Information and Documentation
Associations. Its main objectives are to lobby on behalf of libraries
amongst the European institutions, to give members up-to-date information on
EU developments, and to foster co-operation between members and other
relevant pan-European organisations.
The new Director will be responsible for consolidating the role of the
Bureau as the leading voice and prime focus for library, archive and
information activities at the European level, as major pieces of legislation
and initiatives affecting the World Information Society come into force. The
Director reports directly to the President.
The successful candidate should have good academic qualifications, excellent
organisational, analytical, English presentation and communication skills,
and the ability to network and build partnerships. The candidate should be
flexible and self-motivated with credibility in the profession. The role
offers the opportunity to travel and to work with prestigious, senior
professionals, stake holders and policy decision makers at national and pan-
European levels.
The appointment will start on 1st December 2010 for up to three years. The
closing date for applications is 15th September 2010. Interviews will take
place in Vienna (Austria) on 7th - 8th October 2010.

organisation to: eblida@xxxxxxxxxxx
