DFG/NEH Bilateral Digital Humanities Program
The German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft e.V., DFG) and
The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) in the United States and are
working together to offer support for digitization projects in the humanities.
1. 2008 Call for Joint Digitization Projects:
These grants provide funding for up to three years of development in any of the
following areas: (i) new digitization projects and pilot projects, (ii) the
addition of important materials to existing digitization projects and (iii) the
development of related infrastructure to support international digitization
work and the use of those digitized resources.

The receipt deadline is 15 October 2008.
2. 2008 Call for Bilateral Symposia and Workshops: Proposals for Bilateral
Symposia or Workshops can focus on any area of the digital humanities,
including, but not limited to: (i) capacity building or networking workshops to
prepare for future collaborative humanities projects based around a single
theme, technology, media form or scholarly discipline, (ii) comparing and
discussing the needs of researchers in both the U.S. and Germany and their uses
of digitized resources, and (iii) exploring possible and existing use of
information technology in the humanities in both communities.
Guidelines for this call will be available in late-August. Please contact Dr.
Max Voegler (max.voegler@xxxxxx<mailto:max.voegler@xxxxxx>) to receive a copy
by email when they are available.
The receipt for deadlines has been extended to 2 November 2008.
