Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer is a leading international law firm with
2,400 lawyers in 28 offices around the world.  Our Brussels office does a
variety of work including Belgian law, EU and international competition law
and international trade law and comprises around 174 people of 21 different
nationalities. 

Our library department is looking for a permanent, full-time Assistant
Librarian to support the Librarian in her daily work.  Your tasks will
include :

*        Responsibility for various library tasks (enquiry service,
acquisition, cataloguing, and collection maintenance)

*        Carrying out research in various databases and the internet with a
main focus on Belgian law

*        Assisting our lawyers with information gathering

You have either a degree in library science or have been trained as a
library assistant and have some work experience.  Work experience in a legal
library or an interest in legal work are an asset. 

You have very good Dutch language skills and good knowledge of French and
English. 

You have good computer skills and ideally knowledge of library management
systems.  You like working in a small team but you are also confident
working independently.
