eTEN "Touch & Turn Virtual Library" project wins best digital museum
application prize (7 May 2004)
May 6, 2004: Financed by the EC's eTEN Programme, the "Touch & Turn
Virtual Library" project has won First Price for the best web
based/virtual application in the NODEM (Nordic Digital Excellence of
Museums) Conference. The Virtual Library (www.touchandturn.com) provides
an innovative way of facilitating public access to rare, fragile and
valuable material, giving users the experience of turning the pages of an
original document, with zoom, translation and commentary capabilities in
an unlimited number of languages.
