Dear all, here is a very interesting article by Simeon Warner (from 
arXiv). He explains how the OAI protocol was implemented on the arXiv
server. you can get the fulltext from :

Warner is also writing an article to be published in the 'High Energy
Physics Libraries Webzine' in june (in the 4th issue, to be released by
