- Subject: Conference CRIS 2002 - Current Research Information Systems
We are inviting you to the 6th international conference on Current Research Information Systems, titled "Gaining Insight from Research Information". It takes place in Kassel, Germany, August 29-31, 2002. Topics, programme, registration, accomodation details etc. are published on www.eurocris.org/cris2002. The conference will give an overview about current research information systems - single systems and those embedded in a university research information management system. We will discuss the need for research information from the perspective of different user groups and on the other hand the problems retrieving in a distributed heterogeneous environment. How efficient are metasearch engines? How can we solve the heterogeneity problem searching in databases with different content analyses? The treatment of semantic heterogeneity using metadata extraction and query translation. The development of central knowledge transfer platforms. The use of CERIF (Common European Research Information Format), Dublin Core and the proposal for a new flexible and extensible XML-model for exchange of research information.
Reduced conference fees are offered for registration until June 30 (EUR 250).
Looking forward to see you on the conference
