Nutzung von Meta tags

Im Zusammenhang mit der Diskussion ueber Dublin Core u.ae. mag die
folgende Untersuchung von SiteMetrics interessant sein, im foglenden
auszugsweise zitiert:

"The Second Quarterly Web Content Survey, conducted by SiteMetrics
Corporation in April 1998, measures META tag usage  by 40,000
commercial Web sites owned by 31,000 of the largest U.S. companies.
Key Findings:
Overall, only 30% of the sites surveyed are using META keywords and
just 27% are using META descriptions. These usage rates are unchanged
from the survey conducted in January. The Industrial Tech, Travel,
and Computer industries continue to lead with nearly 35% of sites
using META keywords. Education and Utilities trail with just 24%.
Those sites updated most recently show a higher adoption rate, with
39% using META keywords and 35% META description tags. Over 31% of
META descriptions and nearly 8% of META keywords exceed the
recommended maximum character length."
